This lovely little picture book has an excellent environmental twist on a familiar tale. While Noah organizes the animals on to the ark, Mrs Noah suddenly realizes she must load the ark with plants or there will be nothing to eat while on the ark and nothing to plant to help the world grow once the rains have subsided.

They'll get washed away when the rain comes! So whilst the animal ark venture goes ahead, Mrs Noah begins collecting seeds, taking cuttings and eventually loading the ark with her own produce. The result is a splendid garden ark which not only gives everyone onboard plenty to eat, but once the rain has subsided gives Mrs Noah a head start in helping the world grow green and new.

Elena Pasquali studied romance languages at university and has a special interest in researching folk tales. She worked for some years in children’s publishing before going on to be an author in her own right.
