This is the absolutely delightful story of George, a zebra who finds that he doesn’t much enjoy all the things his friends enjoy, like weightlifting and body building. In fact almost the only thing that George likes doing is to boogie! With straight forward language and short sentences this book is great to read aloud and for encouraging young children to practise their reading (and dancing of course!). The illustration style is wonderfully vibrant and complements the text by imbuing it with a wonderful sense of fun and happiness.
George spends most of his time with his friends Peachy (a gorilla) and Moon (a lion). Peachy and Moon are very boysy boys given to body-building and weight-lifting. Neither of these are George's thing - but what is?

One day, walking home from another morale-crushing session of Rocks (weight-lifting), he hears some music coming from Priscilla the giraffe's river-boat. George's reaction is instinctive. This zebra was just made to boogie.

David Bedford was born in Devon, in the south-west of England, in 1969.
After school, David went to university and became a scientist. His first job was as a NATO Scholar scientist in America, where he worked on discovering new antibiotics.
David has always loved to read and decided to start writing stories himself. After a while, he left his science job and began writing full time. He has now had over 15 books published, which have been translated into many languages around the world.
