New from Centro are these two performance wheel balancers for the ultimate in tyre mounting preparation. Ensure your mounted sets are true and balanced for maximum performance and minimum vibration on the track, as well as improving stability while jumping. In addition balanced wheels and tyres help reduce the load and potential wear and damage to suspension and drivetrain. Two sizes available: 12mm hex covers all 1/10th on and off road from touring car, buggy, short course and trucks. 17mm hex covers 1/8th off road buggy, truggy and some monster truck sets. Not very impressed to be honest. I encountered the same problems as stated by the other reviewer. The bearings are so greased up that this thing is completely useless unless you take it apart and soak the bearings I used WD40 over night. Then, when you come to tighten the securing plate at the back, it all gets too tight and gain will not spin freely. You have to keep it fairly loose and just accept that it will keep working loose when you use it thankfully, just pressing with your fingertip is enough to tighten it up again so it's only a 5 second job and no allen key is required. Sadly I had an additional problem with mine in that the front spindle is not straight. This means you put a wheel onto the hex, and then tighten up the securing nut, and because the spindle is not straight it then overrides the alignment of the hex and the wheel wobbles more than it would otherwise. The end result is that I've now used balancing clay to get my wheels looking balanced on this rig, but this is 'calibrated' based on the amount of wobble that the rig has added to the natural wobble of the moulded wheel. I've yet to run any of my newly balanced wheels on the road yet so I can only hope this process has left them better than they were but still probably not as good as they should be. So..... it's better than nothing, but nowhere near as good as it should be. If they were other options available I would have sent this back and tried something else, but there weren't so I've reluctantly settled for this. I run my cars fairly lightly just on carparks, beaches, and dirt trails so it's probably made me wheels good enough for me needs, but if you were expecting to do find tuning on a track car, I would say this item is simply not made to a high enough quality to give you consistency.

The spindle needed dismantling and bearings soaking in oil as they were sticky with grease I guess from manufacture. With the spindle securing screw tight the shaft doesn't freely rotate enough so you have to back it off which then occasionally gets loose. Does the job though.
