Classic beetle style and brawn fuse together with the FTX Bugsta, the latest 4wd off road vehicle from FTX. Using the same chassis platform as the hugely popular Carnage Truggy, the Bugsta captures best of buggies and trucks, with a bit of monster thrown in for good measure! The 4wd shaft drivetrain features metal diff gears and front universal driveshafts, while an integrated slipper helps protect the drivetrain from possible damage under power. With adjustable turnbuckles all round and large bore oil filled shock absorbers the Bugsta can be tuned to suit you or the surface. Control is via an Etronix 2.4ghz radio system, with power being provided via a brushed 550 motor, electronic speed control and a Voltz 1800mah NiMH battery, with steering being handled by a waterproof 9kg metal geared steering servo. Overall it's fun to drive, looks cool and is pretty quick. However, first sign of a head on collision, not even particularly fast and the bumper has snapped off but the part that has failed is actually the chasis where the bumper connects. Disappointing that the thing that is supposed to be designed to take the shock and fail first didn't fail and instead passed the shock onto the chassis itself. For that reason, has to be 2 stars. Compared to my Tamiya lunchbox, which takes hit after hit.
Great Service from Model Sport Not bad for a beginner to learn on however supplied battery far too small for a car of this size need 3000 minimum Plastic suspension mounts are a weak point Aluminium upgrade a must, E clip on servo saver weak point if bashed about too much had to glue this together until replacement arrived. quite a large car with a large turning circle will be difficult to control on tight tracks if used for club racing Overall not a bad introduction to RC, bits will break
This truck is super value for money, nicely made and very well thought out. I just can't believe the spec you get and that it is RTR at that price point. I bought this for my 4 year old son as I wanted something that could get over reasonable obstacles without rolling over all the time and this is perfect. I've put 6 battery packs through it and it has never been on it's roof. I am really pleased with it and, as usual, Modelsport couldn't have been more helpful when I ran in to a problem.
