The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge is a unique design that works with the Traxxas body mounting mechanism. Traxxas designed the body mounting system to move forward instead of rearward. Because it moves forward by well over 1” (25mm), it severely limits bumper design. However, RPM engineers found a way to incorporate a fully functioning bumper with the Traxxas body mounting system.
How did we do it? First, we eliminated the stock bumper and replaced it with a hinge pin retainer, since realistically, that's all the stock bumper really is. Next, we eliminated the stock skid plate in favor of a wider, longer and more protective skid. Lastly, we bolted a unique bumper to the front of the skid plate. The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge sits below the body, which allows the body mounting system full range of motion, yet the Sledge finally has some tough, RPM front end protection.
Each RPM Front Bumper and skid plate is molded in black from our exclusive blend of engineering grade nylons for unmatched strength and durability. All RPM molded products are made in the USA and backed by our limited lifetime warranty against breakage.
Tech Notes: The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate is designed specifically for the Traxxas Sledge and replaces the bumper and skid plate from stock Traxxas 9535.
