The Utah Jazz were in a bit of a rut for a while, but they will be feeling much better after putting an end to a three-game skid with a 123-108 road win on Thursday. Lauri Markkanen led the team with 29 points, seven rebounds and five assists, John Collins added 22 points with 16 rebounds on 11 of 15 shooting while Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 19 points and eight assists off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 51 percent from the field and 13 of 31 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Wizards from the start, pouring in 36 points in the first quarter, before they went on another run in the third to push the lead out to 25 points at one stage.
Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in terrible form as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting scorched by the Rockets in a 138-104 loss last night. Miles Bridges led the team with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists, LaMelo Ball added 15 points with eight assists while Nick Richards chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hornets shot just 41 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to keep pace with the Rockets in the first half, only to get outscored by 83-51 in the second half to suffer yet another massive defeat at home.
The Jazz will be feeling much better after snapping a three-game losing streak on Thursday and they have a strong chance to get another win against this slumping Hornets team who are playing their second game of a back to back set. The line is hefty for this one, but the Jazz are clearly the team in better recent form and I think they win this one by double digits when it’s all said and done.
