Eight giraffes and two lions had collars fixed to facilitate ecological studies. Two hyenas and an old lame lion were captured in residential areas adjacent to Tsavo West National Park and moved to Tsavo East National Park. Two elephants, two zebras, and a buffalo were treated for injuries while flamingo deaths were assessed through detailed autopsies.
