During the month, the SWT/KWS Anti-Poaching Teams lifted 778 snares and made forty arrests, including eight related to poaching activities. Additional arrests included five charcoal burners, five livestock herders, seven loggers, seven miraa harvesters, and seven individuals apprehended for illegal entry into the parks. More than 450 kilograms of bushmeat was confiscated from poachers and abandoned camps, primarily consisting of hippo and dikdik meat.
Over the course of May, the teams destroyed thirty-seven charcoal kilns and three charcoal camps, including thirteen sacks of charcoal, along with twenty-three harbours, hides, or camps used by offenders within the parks, and twenty-three livestock bomas.

They also discovered five elephant carcasses and handed over 456 kilograms of ivory to the KWS for secure storage.
