During the month, the SWT/KWS Meru Mobile Veterinary Unit attended to 10 cases. These involved a variety of species, including rhinos, elephants, a bongo, zebra, and a security dog. The majority of these cases were successful. The biggest undertaking was the ear-notching of rhinos, 6 of which were also translocated. There were no poaching cases and only 1 human-wildlife conflict case, which involved a speared elephant, unfortunately the animal was unable to survive the infection of the wound.
