Over the course of January, the SWT/KWS Rift Valley Mobile Veterinary Unit attended to 14 cases. These comprised three buffalo cases, one security dog case, five zebra cases, one ostrich case, two waterbuck cases, one giraffe case and one elephant case. Seven cases in total were related to poaching / human-wildlife conflict, with snares again emerging as a prominent culprit.
