Some of the cases attended to during the month included an elephant knocked down by a bus, the rescue of an elephant calf at Lake Jipe, routine visits and check-ups on the rescued elephant calf at the Voi Reintegration Unit, and the treatment of a speared elephant and a snared buffalo. While cases are still low, they are expected to rise given the failed rains, which will inevitably cause and uptick in human-wildlife conflict as animals and local communities compete for resources.
