The need to combine academic knowledge and professional qualifications in the Polish workforce has led one of Poland’s most prestigious universities to partner with PeopleCert.
Warsaw University of Technology – a top three Higher Education institution in Poland – with the Faculty of Management playing a leading role, has become the first Educational Accredited Training Organisation (EATO) in the country, delivering PRINCE2 project management training to its students. And the University intends to add other professional courses and certifications – including ITIL and Scrum – as part of its skills roadmap. Radoslaw Zajac , Lecturer in the Faculty of Management and Lead Ttrainer for PRINCE2, said:
“This new EATO status enables us to provide students with knowledge, competencies and formal proof of their capability needed in a business domain. “This removes the artificial split that can exist in universities between academic theory and practical work skills and will support companies to deliver projects properly.
“As well as providing PRINCE2 courses now – and aiming to include ITIL, Scrum and various other products in the coming months – we will be asking our students what other training will align with their professional needs.” The courses and associated certifications are designed for both undergraduates – initially in the faculty of Management but also likely to include the IT and Architecture faculties – and graduates already working in industries such as banking, insurance, consultancy and software development.
