Balsa Wood - Bargain Bundle
I have just completed the basic construction of a "strip built" kayak. Due to the limited flexibility of some of the timber used not all the strips fit each other perfectly and these small gaps have to be filled - usually with wood filler or hand shaped pieces of the wood being used. This is a tedious job and then - being an aero modeller long ago - I thought I would have a much 'lighter'job if I used balsa for these in fills as they would not be in contact with water as the whole boat is fibre glassed'.
