In the spring my 9yo protege wanted to make an olive green satin dress with a lace overlay. By the time she came over at the end of summer, she seemed to grow out of the pattern. I suggested she sew the bodice and see how it fits. The bodice was a bit tight. I suggested a corded tie in the back be added for flexibility and more growth. She sewed the satin bodice, then the skirt and liked it without the gathers and without the overlace. I agreed that the dress needed to be made more modern. Then she had to go home. I took it upon myself to finish the top. I lined it and added the corded backing. I decided to sew the lace into a dress by itself. A bodice with zipper and gathered skirt. When I put the two together, I got a wonderful outfit fittting for Game of Thrones. Pattern Description: Childrens dress with v-shaped bodice. Pattern Sizing: 7,8,10 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not at all, mine is different. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? She chose this patten Fabric Used: Poly satin and sheer netting with beads and flowers. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Made the bodice into a top. Made the sheer fabric as an undergarment for a costume. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is her decision Conclusion: Photos shown is the garment hanging. If she comes over before the end of the month, I will be able to take photos.
