Introducing Dottie Burleigh, a Simply Stamps veteran wo knows the business inside and out.
I have been here for 38 years now! I have had several roles throughout my career, but I am currently focused on operating our laser-engraving machines.
I have worked in shipping, delivery, stamp assembly, UV printing, and laser operations. I like my current role the best because I enjoy being out on the floor and making things. I know the machines like the back of my hand, and I have a lot of fun operating them.
I love the people . I have made so many life-long friends that I never would have met if I wasn’t working here.
Our original owner, Owen Holmes, was my neighbor growing up. I needed a job after high- school and he hired me on the spot. I also knew a few other people that worked for the company because it was a close-knit community. Some of them even used to baby-sit me as a kid.
The company has grown tremendously since I first started here. Not only have our products expanded, but we have so many more incredible employees. When I first started here, there were only about 10 of us. Now we have over 100 across different departments.
I’m a true Floridian so I love being by the water. On the weekends you can catch me fishing, boating, or visiting the beach with my family.
I would say passion because I have been doing this for so long that I can’t imagine doing anything else. I love what I do, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with the rest of the staff.
We do a great job of balancing work and play. There are always employee events going on t hat help to keep the job fun.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come in my career and all the memories I’ve made. Looking back, it’s crazy to think I have been here since 1986.
I would say to make sure the design you are uploading is easy to read. We want to make sure our stamps are crisp and clear!
