Power - MoteMancer Wiki

Power (sometimes referred to as Mana , but not to be confused with the player character's Mana supply) is a fundamental mechanic in MoteMancer. Most structures need to be supplied with Power to be able to operate.

If a power network does not provide enough power to fully supply all buildings, everything on that network that requires power will run more slowly. If there is no power on the network at all, they will pause what they are doing completely.

Life is the only element with two main ways of generating Power:

The first is through Mana Cultivators , where the Structure consumes Motes of Life or Leaves . Consuming latter will generate more Power over a longer period of time.

The second is through Solar Power , provided by Mana Leaves and amplified by Mana Canopies . As it is Solar Power , these Structures do not generate Power during the night time. You can remedy this through usage of Mana Pools or the Daycaller Spell.

This generated Power is primarily distributed through Mana Roots though there are other Structures like Mana Blooms and Rootbound Grippers to aid in this process, too.

For more detailed information, visit the Life Power page.

Generating Power with Fire requires you to use Lava Barriers to set up giant pools of Lava . The then formed Lava Generator needs to be fed a continuous supply of Elemental Fire to build up Heat , generating more and more Fire Power over time.

There are other ways of increasing the Heat level such as through Lava Pedestals , Pyroclastic Chambers , and Meteor Swarm .

This generated Power is primarily distributed through Fire Wires and Thermal Towers . Unlike Mana Roots which have to be connected to each other and only power adjacent Structures, both the Fire Wires and Thermal Towers can connect to one another at a range and spread Power over a distance.

Wind Turbines are where it all begins with Air 's Power system. The amount of Power generated depends on the Wind Speed and Open Air tiles surrounding the Wind Turbine . Unlike the other two elements, getting access to Wind Power does not occur until Air Adept-level.

Gale Generators increase the amount of Power generated for each Wind Turbine .

This generated Power is distributed through Gust Funnels . These funnels will provide and distribute power in angled corridors to another Gust Funnel , a Wind Turbine , or a Gale Generator .

For more detailed information, visit the Wind Power page.

In the game, there are Spells that can interact with the game's Power mechanic.

Mana Pools and Primordial Manawells are the power storage units for this game. When the power network that the Mana Pools are connected to are saturated in Power (at 100%+), the excess Power is stored. The stored Power is only redistributed when the power network cannot supply enough Power by itself, such as during the night time if the rest of the power network is utilizing Solar Power .

Life Power , Fire Power , and Wind Power normally cannot intermingle with each other. You cannot use a Mana Root to access the Fire Power generated by a Lava Generator or a Fire Wire to access the Wind Power from a Wind Turbine . However, if the power is routed into a Mana Pool or a Primordial Manawell , the power can be bridged. Keep in mind that the bridged power is still limited by how much is stored at a time.
